Duplicate the Background Layer, right-click the Duplicated Layer and go to Blending Options > Gradient Overlay. Choose 2 colors that you like and use this configuration:
This is what i have by now:
Now choose a shape font, you can find some at dafont I will use Curious Device, and type a letter you like, i will use E and press Control + T, holding Control down, grab one of the 8 squares and move it to create perspective:
Now use this options for the shape layer:
If you did it right, you should have something like this:

Open a New Document with these options:
